Theme Ideas 3

Another theme idea would be to concentrate on music. Everyone listens to music so it would be able to relate to people very easily. Here are a few screenshots of music themes from around the web.

I like all three of these pictures a lot. They all use similar imagery to convey music, using sheet music and notes. The difference between the three is the colour. It is interesting to see how multiple colours can be used successfully.

Another theme idea is that of computer mechanics. Here are some screenshots of computer chips. The reason I thought of this theme is because it is relevant to our course.

I think this is an interesting idea because within a computer chip board there are numerous straight lines. These could be used within an exhibition to guide people through the exhibition. The colour theme would have to be blue, green with a tint of yellow. An interesting idea I think.

Theme Ideas

As a group we need to come up with a theme for our exhibit. I'm going to do some researching of themes to gain some ideas.

The most obvious theme to go with this year would be the Olympics. While this may be a bit clichéd, it is still worth looking into to see what the results were from the design team behind the games.

This logo is quite effective, a standard font combined with interweaving ribbon that contains the five colours of the Olympic rings. The actual logo itself has received fairly negative coverage within the media.

London 2012 Logo
This logo reportedly cost £400,000! The logo has been controversial in the run in to the Olympic Games, Iran claimed it appeared to spell the word 'Zion' and others have complained that it could represent a distorted swastika. Hopefully the logo will become more appreciated later on in the year.

After looking at both logos I think we could definitely use the interweaved ribbon with text and also the Olympic Rings as 'O's within words. I don't think the London logo offers much to our hunt for theme ideas however.
