Photo Editing

After taking pictures in the studio, the graphics team have set to work editing them. We are going to do a few different types of pictures and then decide what is best.

Specifications for photo editing:
Width: 8 Inches
Height: 10 Inches
Resolution: 300 Pixels/Inch
Colour Mode: CMYK Colour 8bit
Background Contents: White

Why am I using 300 pixels per inch? As it is the industry standard for printing.
Why am I using CMYK? Because it is best format for printing, RGB is for anything on a screen.

Here is the original image

As you can see, the pictures are a bit yellow. This may have been down to the lighting in the studio as we could not get access to the spotlights we needed.

Next we tried a black and white version of the image. To do this we first adjusted the levels to make the colours deeper. Then we applied the black and white filter on the top. I like black and white images, they provide quite a powerful photograph. Whether we will use them in the exhibition I don't know, but it is an option.

This is what the image looks like after applying Auto Tone and Auto Contrast. One issue is that the same filters cause images to be quite different to one another. The graphics team will have to work hard to make sure they are all consistent with eachother.
